Recent projects!

Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope the year has been great for everyone so far. I know it has been for me. I wanted to share a couple of altered projects that I have been working on. They were actually Christmas presents but I wanted to wait until the person recieving them had a chance to see them first. You never know when someone might decide to pop in and take a look at my blog!

So here are some things that I have been working on.

I found this glass bell at Goodwill. It didn't have anything on it. I added the clear crystal to the middle with some chain I had. I also added the lace on top with some ribbon flowers. I created a charm to hang of the side. And I added the little doves. One to the top and one to the side. I absolutely love the way this turned out!

Close up of the top. I added some rhinestones to a couple of the flowers. I also added one to the center of the lace bow.

I found this wooden bird house box at Goodwill also. I painted it with a few different shades of brown paint and i distressed the edges with distress ink. I made a flower out of an old book and added some bead sprays to the center. The leaves are from Wilton. The started out white and I inked them with different inks and distress inks. I left the stems white and just bent them and curled them. I added ribbon to the edge of the roof and added a ribbon flower. I added a bead from the bead spray to the center and I glimmer misted the entire think with my homemade glimmer mist. So it gives the whole thing some sparkle!

I added a fence embellishment that I have had in my stash for a while. I inked it to make it look a little distressed.

I really enjoyed altering these two items. I had a lot of fun doing so. I hope to do a lot more projects like this in 2012! Please take a second and tell me what you think!
